CLASS 'A' COURSE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION ​:

Commercial Truck Driver Training - A MELT-  104 Hours​

  • 37 Hours In-class Training and Tests

  • 17 Hours Vehicle Inspection

  • 18 Hours in Yard Training

  • 32 Hours  on the Road Training

Approved as a vocational program, Under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005

​​​​​

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT :​

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent or Wonderlic (SLE)

  • Must hold a valid Class G License (Ontario)

  • MTO Medical Submission at Drive Test Centre

  • Must Pass the Class A (Rules & Signs) Knowledge Exam​

AIR BRAKE COURSE ('Z' Endorsement)

The ‘Z’ Endorsement Course will focus on how the air brake system works and the understanding of the components to ensure that students can identify, report and initiate the steps necessary for repairs to be made.

 

  • Duration: Two-day classes total of approximation of 12 hours

  • Credential: Certificate (Issued by Ontario Safety League)

  • Retrieval of Air Brake Endorsement Certificate once both Written and Practical Test results are successful

 

Once the course has been completed, the student will receive an Air Brake envelope. The student will present this sheet to a Drive Test Centre within 6 months to add the 'Z' Endorsement to their license.
